Finally... :)

Hey Everyone!!!
Sorry it's been so long since I posted last. They just got the computers set up in the dorm this week, and I haven't had much time on the computer so far. Anyway, I've been having lots of fun. I made it into both bells and choir, which makes me really, super duper happy. :D Two weeks ago, we got wood up in the La Sal mountains. It was really fun, except for the fact that my arm was hurting so I couldn't lift anything, so I ran the wood splitter instead. Sabbath we went on a hike, I don't even remember where to, but there was a place where two streams came together, and one stream was warm, and the other was cold. So one foot was in warm water and the other in cold. It was so cool!!! We started classes that Monday, I really like all of my classes and I have the most amazing teachers!!! I'm in Bible, Health, Government, Algebra 2, bells, choir, ACTS, and Spanish.
Last weekend we went to  SWYC. I really, really liked the whole weekend. It was really awesome and very inspirational. I really, really liked Pastor Dwayne Lemon mainly because his sermons were more like Bible studies, and thus were very cool. I also went to the prayer room and that was also really cool.
Today I got to make cookies, and clean the ad building and my room and do bells and choir. I also found out today that our music director is leaving, which is really sad. :( I don't know what we're going to do after he leaves.
Next week we're going on survival week. It's going to be epic. I'll let you all know more about it when we get back.
Anyway, I need to go get ready for vespers. I love you all and miss you!!!

The Beginning

Thursday morning was an early morning. Aunt Josie arrived at our house at 6 AM. We had loaded up the day before, and that car was packed!!! Aunt Josie had volunteered to drive her car, a Toyota Rav 4, down to DayStar so I could go to school there. Well, anyway, as I was saying, we had a lot of fun on our trip. We stopped in The Dalles, OR to pick up some stuff and say goodbye to my Aunts Roxie, Nancy, and Mingma, and two of my cousins. Then we stopped in Pendleton, OR to say goodbye to my Grandma Baird, Uncle Jerry, Aunt Candie and her husband. Our next stop was quite a bit farther down the road at my cousin Misty's house in Nampa, ID. We dropped off our snake and Aunt Josie took a nap, while the rest of us visited. When Aunt Josie woke up we continued on our journey.
Finally we reached Ogden, UT where we spent the night in a hotel. Thankfully, I fell asleep before anyone started snoring. Friday we continued on. We drove through Arches National Park, where Aunt Josie named every single rock formation that caught her eye. She had some pretty interesting names for them. She decided that one looked like three people gossiping, the real three gossips formation were the three wiseman, and another formation looked like dog poop.
Finally we were on Castleton Road, the last leg to DayStar. I was so excited! We followed the Colorado River for a long time, it was so pretty. We passed a cave that I swore was the eye of a T-Rex, and Red Cliff Lodge/Winery. Then we reached DayStar. It is so pretty here!!! I love my room's floor. It's ceramic tile and so slippery!!! I'll be posting pics on Facebook later. Anyway, we met my dean, Alexa Hernandex. She is really nice and sweet and showed us to my room. Then we brought the car around and unloaded, hung up my clothes, and got back in the car. As we were pulling out we saw all the staff and students having vespers down by their little pond. They had lit tiki torches and it looked so peaceful, I wanted to stay. But we were headed to Aunt Alice's to spend the weekend.
On the way to Aunt Alice's the Rocket Box popped open and the packing blanket was flapping against the back of the car. Aunt Josie pulled over and mom hopped out to fix it. I don't know exactly what was wrong, but the Rocket Box refused to latch. Finally they got the back end of the box to latch and we prayed the front wouldn't flop open and we kept going. We stopped at the next gas station to see about getting bungee cords to hold the front closed, but when Mom tried to open the front God had latched it. :) It was a good thing too because the store didn't have bungee cords.
When we got to Aunt Alice's we were so tired. I slept really well that night and woke up at 9:45. Mom and I went on a walk, and I took a lot of pictures. Then we watched a sermon about a man's experience with Illuminati. Very, very good. Mom's bringing home a copy, you all should watch it. Anyways, we had lots of thunder, but I only saw one lighting bolt. It was a little depressing. Mommy tried jumping on the trampoline though, which was highly entertaining. She thought she was going to throw up, and didn't appreciate it very much when I started jumping.
Now, it's almost bedtime. Tomorrow we are leaving at 8 AM, and going to the hole in the rock. I think it's a house carved into the rock. We're only staying for an hour though. Then we'll go back to DayStar, finish unpacking and moving in and I'll get to meet my roommate!!! I'm so excited!!!
Anyway, I miss you all, love you all. I'll see you at Christmas.
